Laetitia Demessence, Marc Bourdeau · Canada

  • • Best Art Direction
  • • Best Cinematography

HEARTLANDS: EARTH AND BONES

Clare Reynolds · United Kingdom

  • • Best Choreography
  • • Best Performance: Patsy Browne-Hope

For achieving a period setting that stands out for its meticulous attention to every detail. The choice of furniture and props, in harmony with the costumes and the location, creates an atmosphere in which all the elements blend subtly and precisely, transporting the viewer to another era with elegance and authenticity.

BOULEVARD

Pierina Espinoza · Venezuela

  • • Special Mention

Because it integrates several contemporary artistic codes, woven together kindly to give rise to a work that moves and communicates through its cinematic expression.

LES MOTS D'AMOUR

Laetitia Demessence, Marc Bourdeau · Canada

  • ★ Relámpagos Award

PUENTES

STRAIGHT AND IN A CIRCLE

Laurynas Kamarauskas · Lithuania

  • • Best Music

For the use of music in the atmosphere of a story as subtle as it is symbolic, managing to evoke the sensations of wanting to belong to a place.

CUARTO DE HORA

Carlo Sánchez, Mario Cáceres, Mauricio Flores · Chile

  • • Best Sound

For how the sound design accompanies us throughout the story, creating an entire off-screen world that adds layers to the film's tone. And for how it effectively builds a dreamlike moment—of delirium, of life and death—for its protagonist.

PAR-DELÀ LES MONTAGNES

Aymeric Schoens · France

  • • Best Editing

Because in its editing we notice pulse and precision, making us part of the journey—frustrated, yet transformative—of its protagonist.

THE STEAK

Sadeq Es-haqi · IRAN

  • • Best Art Direction

For the ambitious commitment of an art direction that leaps into the void, accompanying and strengthening the director's vision. For how space and objects play a fundamental role in that balance that will soon be broken by the tragedy of a war off-screen.

PAR-DELÀ LES MONTAGNES

Guillaume Le Grontec · France

  • • Best Cinematography

Because it takes us by the hand throughout the story, naturally and without stylistic pretensions, so that we enter and leave each scene. The moment when the protagonist is in the dark room, lighting his face only with his cell phone, moved us deeply.

CUARTO DE HORA

Steevens Benjamin · Chile

  • • Best Actor

Because his work with the body, the face, and the gaze, throughout the complexity of a long take and a scene demanding pain, life, and death, is worthy of recognition. And because he gives a face to minorities made invisible in Latin American cinema.

LA ASISTENTE

Illari Pérez · Peru

  • • Best Actress

We are witnessing impressive talent, a girl who gives us a restrained performance like that of actresses with years of experience. We believe in the future, in new talents, but above all, in refined forms of acting, which sometimes only a debutant can give us.

YA HANOUNI

Lyna Tadount, Sofian Chouaib · France

  • • Best Screenplay

For its masterful storytelling, stripped of artifice. For its simplicity in making us think, in so little time, through a single shot and with very little dialogue, about life and death. But above all, for how it takes on a tragedy that is very current today and that we should all be talking about.

THE STEAK

Kiarash Dadgar · IRAN

  • • Best Direction

For the precision, austerity, and rigor of a seemingly simple staging that nonetheless demanded courage and the supervision of many details. Because it is undoubtedly a proposal that takes risks. We see an author who portrays a tragedy in a way that leaves no viewer indifferent.

WIZYTA

Paulina Zając · Poland

  • • Special Mention

Because we are convinced that it narrates a terrible reality that deserves to be made visible, and it does so in a very simple and moving way, which is coherent with its own discourse. It contrasts life and death in just a few minutes while bringing us closer to a culture so distant, without our failing to recognize the elements that make it such a universal story… the beautiful and naïve competition between a father and a mother who will not live to see their goal fulfilled is the saddest and most beautiful thing we saw in this edition.

YA HANOUNI

Lyna Tadount, Sofian Chouaib · France

  • ★ Jury Award

Because in times of unjustified wars and a genocide to which we all bear witness day by day, it is a necessary and urgent film that portrays the tragedy of peoples under siege by power, hatred, and pettiness. And it does so forcefully and sensitively. A film that does not resort to cheap shots, but to the viewer's empathy, in a world where images of war seem normalized on social media.

THE STEAK

Kiarash Dadgar · IRAN

  • ★ Puentes Award for Best International Short Film

For tackling a current, relevant, and everyday subject—bureaucracy and borders—in such a fresh way. For entertaining us through a particular humor and unconventional characters that at the same time feel so natural and engaging.
